Leo Klijn has more than 20 years of leadership experience in developing,
optimizing and revamping distribution channels for top-tier companies around
the world. An accomplished entrepreneur and intrapreneur, his vision and
expertise in corporate strategy and marketing have driven notable enterprise
growth in the retail, enterprise software and general consumer goods
sectors.
Offering a rare blend of creative and operational strengths, Leo has
achieved exciting company and product turnarounds and is recognized for his
success in growing sales and profits. His strategic approach to building a
business is reflected in his work as General Manager Asia-Pacific for Groupe
Casino, where he set up and led the Far East Sourcing office. His strategy
revamp and focus on sourcing directly from vendors quickly delivered
impressive bottom-line results. His turnaround capability is highlighted by
his accomplishments as Senior Vice-President Sales and Marketing for a $100
Million French food manufacturer, where he led a distressed company back to
record profitability through a drastic restructuring of its product lines
and the development of new distribution channels.
Leo acquired direct hands-on experience as a business owner, when he
co-founded SourcingLink, a software and services company focused on supplier
relationship management, where he held several senior executive positions.
As Vice President Services he led strategic sourcing engagements and
software implementations for leading retailers and CPG companies such as
Carrefour, Metro, Ito Yokado, Groupe Casino, Leroy Merlin, Makro, PETsMART,PETCO, Dannon and Smurfit. During his tenure the company reached a market
capitalization of $450 Million. He was also actively involved in the
acquisition, development and subsequent sale of his wife's restaurant.
Currently a principal at Henberger, he focuses on helping private business
owners realize their dreams. He is a CBI (Certified Business Intermediary)
and a member of the IBBA (International Business Brokers Association), M&A
Source, ACG (Association for Corporate Growth, CABB (California Association
of Business Brokers) and the IBA (institute for Business Appraisers). He
also holds a broker's license from the California Department of Real Estate.
Leo received his Masters from ESCP-EAP, Paris, London, Berlin and his
Undergraduate from Nijenrode, the Netherlands ' School of Business. He has
worked on all major continents, is fluent in English, German, French and
Dutch and proficient in Spanish and Thai. Leo is an active coach for his
daughter's soccer team and an avid, yet unaccomplished golfer.
