Marilyn is a CFO for businesses in transition including  Turnarounds, Workouts, and Start Ups with over 25 years experience in financial management, reporting, planning, and control.  Her capabilities are in the area of practical solutions to financial and operational issues.  Her hands -on style allows her to successfully process the many details facing a company in transition as well as communicate the big picture to a broad audience.

As a hands-on financial manager and consultant, she works with management to both identify and facilitate the strategic and operational changes necessary to increase cash flow, arrest declining performance, produce profitability, and establish effective financial systems, procedures, and controls. 

Prior to consulting, Marilyn’s positions included Corporate Controller of a Technology manufacturing firm, Controller of manufacturing and distribution firms, and Chief Financial Officer of a bank.   She is experienced with organizations of all sizes from $2.5Million through $500 Million in both hands on managerial and executive positions.

In addition, some of Marilyn’s financial advisory experience includes:

• Managed financial operations through corporate restructuring of a Health Care Diagnostic imaging firm.
• Managed financial operations through corporate restructuring and ultimate wind-down of a technology manufacturing firm.
• Developed a turnaround plan for a technology manufacturing and distribution firm.
• Served as part of a team to managed financial split during divestiture of Agilent Technologies from Hewlett Packard.
• Managed pre-merger internal financial audit resulting in over $5 Million dollar write down (20% of acquisition price) in purchase price for acquiring organization.
• Developed and Managed all Financial Operations in Technology Manufacturing, Software, & Services Businesses
• Developed & Implemented Accounting Policies & Procedures in Technology Manufacturing,  Software, & Services Businesses
• Managed project to consolidate financial reporting for all US Factory locations for Hewlett Packard.
• Developed Business Controls Department for Hewlett Packard US Financial Operations.
• Managed IT Systems Conversion Processes resulting in significant savings in procedural processing time for monthly financial statement preparation.
• Created work papers and developed requisite monthly systems and procedures for maintaining Balance Sheet account integrity in organizations experiencing rapid growth.
• Managed investment portfolio of in excess of $100 Million. Managed all accounting operations including staff supervision and all financial and regulatory management and reporting for Savings Bank in excess of $200 Million in Assets.

Additionally, she is a member of the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors and currently pursuing the Certified Insolvency & Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) certification.  Marilyn received her B.S. in Accounting and Financial Planning from the State University of New York and her Executive MBA from Baruch College, City University of New York..
